Should I quit chess?

I have been losing games a lot for the past month. I do lessons on chess.com but never get better. My friends keep getting better and better and they rarely lose. Even if they lose, it is a close game. I blunder everything recently, and can't win through my games. When I am sometimes winning, I eventually lose because I blunder my Queen or something at the very end of the game. What should I do? Quit chess? Make a new account? Or just get better? But how?

Hi Rimpei,

I have seen your accounts and noticed that you haven't been losing that much recently but if you think chess is not enjoyable and most importantly annoying you than I suppose taking a break. I don't think you should quit but should come back to it with a fresh new mind.

don't play to much just study if your rating is tilting then don't play it'll only cause you to make your rating worse

you get nothing out of training or studying because this page is full of cheaters, as minimum, 6/10 will use engine, so don't waste your money paying for lessons what will not make you improve your ELO

You can take a break for a while, that’s what I usually do when chess gets boring.

You won't get better only by playing games.

You should also spend time learning chess.

i understand your, pain quit or not to quit -- take some time away from your account play only non signed up games when needed -- and try different things different openings make it fun again trying even only playing first ten moves -- then quit -- then next game 15 moves etc etc see if you can last till each goal --it will make it fun again and of course study some others when you feel like it

yes you should, some people arent meant for chess

Don't quit, maybe just take a break. It might be that you are rushing, slow down and make sure that your piece is safe. Take a break, then your friends can help you to get back into Chess

DONT QUIT

Bro, if you need to ask your mind is made up, stop making crap posts, its a chess forum what do you expect us to say? Duh, dont quit.

some people simply arent built for it, why do you think after chess boomed the average rating is 650. because it became a trend and even dumb people wanted to give it a shot.

you can allways try to get better but what will likely happen is you will go through multiple fazes before realizing that you arent playing chess, youre playing ¨how to win in 5 moves¨ or ¨the london system¨ or ¨the best traps ever¨ which is not real chess. if you do not become 1000 rating in less than 6 months you have no hope, concider that the deadline

Two suggestions: 1. Do what everyone suggests and take a break. I did and I'm doing better. 2. Do something to help you focus, like I listen to music, but don't cheat.
