Should I quit chess.com? I’m not good at chess on here, I don’t own any good clubs, and I’ve tried everything to get my rating up but I keep losing games, even in bullet which is the one time control where I’m above 600. I’m too scared to play rapid in case I lose. Even my alt isn’t as good as it was. (Verified alt) Should I just close my acc because idk anymore

People who love chess play it even if they still lose. Eventually they start winning.

"Should I quit chess.com?"
++ Chess is a game meant to be fun. If it is no fun to you, then yes, quit.

"I’m not good at chess on here" ++ You can improve.

"I don’t own any good clubs" ++ Not needed.

"I’ve tried everything to get my rating up" ++ Probably not.

"I keep losing games" ++ Blunder check before you move.

"even in bullet" ++ Do not play bullet. Play 15|10 rapid.

"I’m above 600" ++ That is a sign you should blunder check before you move.

"I’m too scared to play rapid"
++ If you are not prepared to lose, you should not be allowed to play any game at all.
You win some, you lose some. Each loss is a lesson. Take it.
Whenever you lose a game, analyse it thoroughly and learn from your mistakes.

It's the same question that gets asked practically once a day in the forum.

Ask yourself: 1) do you enjoy playing chess ? 2) Does someone or somewhat force you to play chess ? 3) Do you play chess to accumulate points or because you are interested in the game ?

Answer the questions and decide for yourself. You decide what is best for you based on what you want.

I was 1000 once at rapid, time went by and I Dipped below 900. Eventually I started playing again. look at my stats if you want to know what happened (not advertisement just proving a point)

You said that you have tried everything. Really? Playing bullet is a terrible way for someone to try to learn chess. You are basically trying to learn through trial and error, with no time to think or to process what is happening.

instead of quitting, try this. Take a week to work through two books on chess basics—like Chernev’s Logical Chess Move by Move and Practical Chess Endings. You will see how chess should be played.

then, play rapid chess rather than blitz. You will have time to think about how to apply what you have been reading.

your play should improve dramatically.
