Of,course not. Where would you, move if you got stalemated?
Should we get rid of stalemate?

I think it's the dumbest question that is seen way too many times on this site.
People complain because they f'ed up and walked into a stalemate.
It's part of the freakin' game guys! If you are not directly attacking the King, and the opponent lacks a legal move, it's a draw! Therefore, leave your opponent at least one legal move, or else checkmate him. If you are incapable of doing that, it's a draw for you at best!

Of,course not. Where would you, move if you got stalemated?
There have been posts before trying to argue that stalemate should have the same effect as checkmate. In other words, you win if your opponent doesn't have a legal move instead of you win if your opponent's king can't get out of check.
A couple of others have argued that stalemate should lead to a forced pass, and the other player moves again, which will ultimately lead to a win.
People that have made those claims before are just outright ignorant.

So are you saying my claim is ignorant or realistic?
No, if you read the post, the ignorant ones are the ones that whine and complain that stalemate is a cheap shot way to draw. There have been a ton of posts, predominantly by low-rated players, complaining that such a rule should not exist.
Had you claimed the opposite, saying that stalemate is stupid and shouldn't be part of the game, that I would deem you ignorant. The post you put agrees with those that have common sense. It's part of the game, and for a valid reason, which is what you gave above.
The reason for my post is that I'm stepping in before we get a bunch of ignorant nobodies going around saying for the 100th time that they should abolish the stalemate!

I think stalemate should be abolished! Too many games end up with K+ rook pawn vs King, and end in a draw! :P
I personally don't think so.
What do you think?
Here we go again. Stop and think: if stalemate were abolished, every K+P vs. K ending (and many other endings) would be a win.
Another thing: it's not going to happen -- ever. The rules are not going to be changed at this late date.

Exactly. What is the point of this?! To talk about something really stupid and that is not going to get changed!

Is this the time of the year to talk about stalemate ?
Yep, guess so. Trolls after Trolls after Trolls keep posting the nonsense.
I personally don't think so.
