I just made the silliest move in my Online Chess game. I saw the really obvious consequence of one move, but moved someplace that is going to result in the same consequence. Greaaat. ha

Here is a conversation between my chess-playing friend (who was playing a turn based game on chess.com at the time) and a non-player:
Non-player: Is this some sort of online league?

(The knight could have been taken by a queen, but it was adequately defended by multiple pieces.)

Akafett sound like some sort of Star Wars character, but with Star Wars not being my area of sci-fi expertise, I wouldn't know.

I checkmate my inexperienced opponent. Subsequently, he says "The king can move two spaces when it's checkmate!" He moves the king twice to capture the rook that is delivering checkmate. We quarrel about this, and I try to convince him that that is completely illegal. Eventually, I give up and decide to checkmate him again since I am still up by a huge amount of material. Once I do so, he moves his king to the first rank and says "Stalemate!" He starts to run aimlessly around the vicinity while screaming "I won!"

Perhaps they consciously knew it would be an annoying claim and they felt better "claiming" a "stalemate."
