Stuff Non-Chess Players Say

I just came back from celebrating Thanksgiving. I am happy as I got to play 3 OTB games today. Two I played were against a non-chesser (she made all of the classic patzer mistakes, including 1. a3? and 1.h3? in both games respectively) and mostly just moved her pawns (I beat her very easily). The other one was an instructive game (I wish I had been keeping track of the moves) as it was against a good player who is a close friend of my family. He hadn't played in a while, but I could tell he was still a strong player. We ended up in a tight endgame where I considered offering a draw several times. He sometimes didn't make the best moves, but his mistakes were hard to take advantage of with little material on the board. Eventually, he gained the advantage and I was forced to hope for stalemate, which didn't happen, as he forced me out of the situation. He beat me, but it was a very good game. (He's originally from Russia, so we were making jokes about my representing America.) I had a lot of fun this Thanksgiving, and I got to play some chess.

I played blitz with my cousin. I had 30 sec, he had 4 min 30 sec on his clock. Gets the adrenaline going to kick a patzer's grass with 11% of the time they have...

^YESSSS especially in bug house....this one kid forked my king, queen, and a pawn. Guess which one he took? The pawn...and then that got me into checkmate.

Enjoy this pie! Or whatever pie you've got at home! Over here we've got homemade pumpkin and pecan, respectively. Will be yummy.
Oh no, too many capories, I tried mango turnovers this year!

Not if it's just an itty-bitty sliver of pie! xD
How were the mango turnovers? I actually don't like mangos. Haha we're making fun of each other's desserts. And my friend had cranberry cake for dessert at Thanksgiving. Cranberry cake, wth? lol!

My game with OV has ended. It was a viscous fight to the end. Indeed, VERY viscous. Like molasses! Dam, now I'm hungry.
