In Vegas when we weren't playing chess, my friend and I went to one of the outdoor pools. It turned out to be top-optional and they were checking ID's. Kinda awkward, but we walked all the way there so decided to just go swimming anyway .___.

Top-optional?  Oh dear grief..............................................................................

That's something that I would not like to have to deal with...but regardless, you have fun?

They had really loud club music and the remixes sounded pretty good imho. Not really my environment, but it was fun. During the summer in Vegas the sun is really... sunny... so the water felt great!

It was awkward and I won't go into detail about what I saw, though it's grilled in my memory. <___<''

I hate it when people who really shouldn't be wearing small swimsuits do so in public places...just think before you cause half of the beach population's eyes to burn out, will ya?

akafett

LOL. At first I just read, "...I won't go into detail about what I saw, though it's grilled..." and I thought AAAHHH!

But I see what you mean; your memories are now infested with the bodies of rinkly retired people.

But someone of the male gender may have been interested in attending...though it would be quite awkward...

Is chess like fancy checkers?

"TAKE THE ROOK! TAKE THE ROOK!" (Me: The pawn is pinned you dumbo)

When a friend that just started playing chess says the queen can move like any other piece, and forks my king and rook (like a knight)

When someone says it is called a castle, not a rook. I switch the king and rook around(castling) and ask what is that called. They say you can't do that, illegal move, I win)

At the "pool party," a couple (I assume) asked me to take a pic with their smartphone of them in the bathtub. Both had their suits on, luckily. I don't know why there was a bath tub at the pool. It was next to the bar area. Then management came and asked them to get out of the display bathtub.

So, yeah. Great story, I know.

I'd like to hear a non-chess player argue with a Tournament Director. A really strict TD. That'd be so good to see. lol

Why would ANYONE put a display bathtub next to a pool and a bar? That's like putting a display toilet next to a dinning room table.

Well, it was probably less awkward for you since you are a girl  (right?), then for us guys...

akafett

Talking about this keeps reminding me of Dwayne Hanson scuptures for some reason.

That's not bad for a sculpture! A long time ago I visited a wax museum in L.A. with a friend. I don't remember much of it but that the figures looked pretty realistic, and I bet they've improved even more on how realistic they can look.
