Some friends on a WhatsApp chat were bored and I suggested something. Here's the ensuing chat: (Names changed for obvious reasons.)P.S: it looks weird because It's on windows phone.

The whole time I was thinking meta.... lol.... and then I saw you commented that too. Also meta cause in your chat you were changing names too, or something like that, and you changed it to post it here. OMG MIND BLOWN. *explosion*

I give you credit for taking the time to edit the names. Must've taken some extra time. 

For those who can't be bothered to read all of it, here's the best non-chess player quote, edited for clarity:

Interesting name for checkers: draughts. I wonder where it originated. I bet it makes more sense than "checkers."

I wondered that too! I looked it up and it says British. (And it also says "late Middle English: from draught; related to obsolete draught in the sense ‘move'.) Huh, who knew. 

Triggered non-chess players, LOL! Too funny too funny. I hope that wasn't a chess park though cause that person should definitely not be hanging around a chess park.

It's not the longest thread actually. One of the most viewed, yeah. There are others I've seen with more comments. But are those other long threads chess-related a majority of the time? I don't know about that. At least this one is "fun with chess." 

Hello fellow dragon :) That comment reminds me of something that happened in my chess club. I had two people leave the chess club and they emailed me that they left because they weren't making friends. I feel bad about that, I honestly do, but it's a chess club. A chess club is made for those who share an interest in chess and, presumably so I thought, would join with chess as their foremost interest. There are other clubs you can join at the same time to make friends, right. You can be in chess club and other clubs. It doesn't have to be one or the other. It shouldn't be my unspoken job to make sure you're being sociable. Club description of chess club: We play chess. 

Ok, rant over. 

My actual, polite, email reply: I'm sorry! Feel free to join again another time. We will still be playing chess.
