I was wondering what I should play in response to

1. e4 c5

2. e5

when playing the Sicilian Defense. I also want to know what to expect after.null

2...Nc6 attacks the over extended pawn, and prevents d4.

It's just a normal game except white wasted a move in the opening.

Bacon gives the recommended move Nc6 which develops and attacks at the same time (remember pawn moves don't count as development, and remember to develop quickly in the opening)

In general any time an opponent pushes a pawn to your side of the board very early in the opening, it's often good to attack it with a pawn. For example d6 and if white captures it develops your queen, or f6 and if white captures it develops your knight. I'm not saying to play those moves on move 2, or even 3 or 4, but just giving an example for how to react to these things in general. When their pawn is so far advanced it's harder to defend, and so it usually has to capture thereby developing pieces for you and wasting more time for them.
