If it's a friend of mine, I have been known to delay mate for several moves just to make it look better. They should know better than to not resign against me :)
If I can mate with the first move I see, I do it.
I really see no difference between mating with a pawn or a queen.
The pawns are usually smaller than the Queen.
I would do Qg5 because I wanna use all of my queen's abilities. Even a rock can mate by rh2 and if I do Qh2, in fact I'm insulting my queen.

I see what you're trying to do-find out which move we would use. Again, for me, I'm using the first move I see that mates.
In a situation that you are trying to present (five pieces vs. none), I would have mated many moves earlier.

As it is well known that g6 is one of my favourite squares, the best move in that position is Bg6 mate.
Side note: white's previous move could have been Be1+ (or Bxpiece+)
but I'd invole more pieces in the mate by re7#, to reduce unemployment rate!!!

That kind of mate is called an in-your-face mate, so yeah, I choose dat one...
Qh2, because the Queen moves the least distance and I can be a bit lazy at times.
