Silver Membership

Chess.com should add a cheaper silver membership with roughly half the benefits of Gold membership. How about 10 -12 tactics and 3 lessons a day for half the price as Gold. I work a 5 and a half day week and cannot maximize use of a Gold membership - most of the benefits would be wasted. I could use the silver because 5 tactics a day for free is just too little, while 10 - 12 seems to be just about right for a busy person. Please chess.com make a silver option.

IMBacon - That is why I only mentioned Silver Membership now - sure I have been a member for 3 years, but only in the last 2 months did I start taking chess seriously and started playing daily games & tournaments and joining clubs and making friends. When I asked these friends for advice - the number one tip was do tactics. I have only started doing tactics daily for the past two weeks and plan to keep it up and want to do more every day - 5 a day is just too little - 25 a day for me is just too much - while around 10 is the sweet spot.

RedGirlZ, there was only a need to mention those variables I mentioned - because if you compare the 3 membership types currently on offer with free - you will easily be able to figure out the other variables that will be applicable to silver.

It is obvious what the other variables are going to be - but if you want me to spell it out - I will - but not right now - I have to go to work now - I will set out all the variables later on in the day.

RedGirlz - this was a simple suggestion and the finer details would be up to chess.com to work out. Some things that you mentioned are already obvious as it says on the site "All Premium Plans Include: NO Ads, Opening Explorer, ChessTV, Drills, Club Management, and Time-out Protection for Daily Games" So if we look at what Gold offers - it would be easy to work out what a silver membership would contain. Also remember that exchange rates are different, so while Gold may be cheap to you - it is not cheap to people living in other countries, who may also have much lower income than others. In short, my suggestion apart from the obvious stated above would be:

10 Tactics Per Day
Unlimited Tournaments
3 To 5 Lessons Per Day (chess.com can choose the amount)
Ability to Create A Club
All Tournament Stats
5 Member Created Tournaments
Half The Cost Of Gold

You do not get my point RedGirlz. I am not a dictator - I do not dictate the final terms of Silver Membership. This is just a SUGGESTION to chess.com. They can look at it and decide what is suitable for a Silver Membership.

I give up explaining to you - did I not mention in my first post that I have a shortage of spare time. I did put in a little time and re-stated my suggestion - I am sorry that you have such a high expectation of people and I am sorry that I cannot live up to that high expectation. I am just a normal person, just trying to do the best I can with the little time I have.

For you it may be cheap - but what about people who earn much less and people like me who don't have the time to utilize the benefits of Gold to the fullest extent.

lets have a vote. personally I think we should have an "activated " membership the that only gives you the benefits when you click a button but does not count the days when you have it deactivated. so far the votes are:

For silver: 3.5

Against silver: 3.5

For activated: 1

youre crazy.... even people who earn much less can at least afford the monthly ones
