Let me take this opportunity to say that Chess.com memberships are changing slightly in the next 2-3 weeks. Silver is gone and will just be the same as gold but monthly payment. Platinun is much much cheaper, but doesn't have the gift membership. Diamond is totally different - it's no longer a lifetime platinum but is instead platinum + chess mentor. Chess mentor is no longer a seperate subscription. And the cost of chess mentor has come down a LOT. :) Hopefully these changes will be smooth and will address some of these types of questions - frankly, we just made it all too complicated at the start :)
There used to be a silver membership, but it is not available anymore. What happened to all of the silver members at the time? Were they bumped up to gold or did they just all expire within a month?
