Slick Clock Algorithms

I've logged almost 2,000 games, mostly Bullet, so I believe I am in a position to say I have a good feel for how to play on the "clock". I have decided to terminate my association with Chess.com because of what i believe (though cannot prove) is some slick clock algorithms built into the software; similar to the algorithms built into casino slot machines to pay out at a certain time.

What I have constantly experienced is how the clock may show for example I have 1:05 seconds left, my opponent will have 24 seconds left and opponent wins because my clock lopped off large chunks of time, although the pace of my moves remains consistent. I've have actually witnessed my clock time drop like a rock, though it took me 1 sec to make a move.  I believe Chess.com app does this on purpose to keep players "hooked" like playing slot machines, frustrated, ready to start another game. I absolutely do not believe it has to do with Internet speed, connectivity, etc.

I am going "cold turkey" with Chess.com after my last game where I had 32 sec. left, my opponent had 4 sec. I had just my King; opponent was still was able to push his two pawns AND king making a total of 11 moves and WIN ON TIME because my clock ran out first though I took maybe 0.02 seconds per move!!

I refuse to keep "chasing the carrot" at the end of the stick.  Better to play "live" in-person games rather than seeing your clock drop large chunks of time unexplainedly, so that Chess.com can somehow make "the game exciting" right down to the wire, when we players don't need that "help" from Chess.com.  Just leave the clock alone and may the best player win, based on how each player CHOOSES to utilize their valuable time!!  We don't need any "help" from Chess.com to make all the games "close and exciting" by fiddling with the clock time.

If what you say were true, we would expect to see you losing on time a lot.

However, it appears that you win on time almost three times as often as you lose.

Love how justbefair brings out the stats.
