So Carlsen is 2900+?

Is this known? I just checked 2700chess.com and says Carlsen is 2948, broke 2900 july 2014.

Also checked FIDE site http://ratings.fide.com/id.phtml?event=1503014

How come I've never seen news of this?

That's the blitz rating. Not that it isn't a big deal.

Probably was the result of the World Blitz and Rapid championships and likely reported on at that time.
