I have had a chess.com account for ages-- haven't used it much more than the last year-- but I never really looked into this forum!!!  I sought it only accidentally via google search... occasionally for curiousity about tactics etc, but never found it particularly useful.

I have, however, by active use of this forum, in the past hour, learned all kind of stuff about chess that apparently everyone knows but me!

Like, that there is a special term, Patzer, for someone who really tries to get good at chess, but then still isn't, but still doesn't give up.  I now aspire to be a patzer, but if I understand correctly, I don't really play enough chess.

Also, that there is a ancient Greek goddess of chess (although, of course, Chess is not so old as ancient Greece, Caissa, whom Kasparaov references, who was invented by an Italian renaissance artist!  That could be literally the most incredibly geeky and wonderful thing I have ever heard in my life!

Pumped to enter this glorious new era of my life as a Chess.com forum participant!
