Can't I just give myself a title without the burden of having to do the whole charity thing? I don't really see how you connected the two.
So you want to be a chess master... easy and fast too?
Or you can be like 2Q and work your ass to truly achieve what you desire!!
4 months ago he had no idea how to move pieces, today he absolutely crushed a NM in only 14 moves!
And you come here and tell us how to get a fake title??? Shame on you, shame on you!!
Ok, while it is nice to get a title from FIDE or whatever organization that WE all know about but not to the 99% of the other people on this planet. So here're the steps for those that just want a title (and without a real need for it):
1. Identify a local charity.
2. Make a donation to it; time/money/resources/whatever that charity can use best.
3. Based on your personal perceived importance of your donation, award yourself one of these following titles:
chess expert
chess master
chess grand master
chess ultimate grand master
chess best player in all chess history
chess best player past, present, and future
4. To upgrade or change your title, just go thru the above steps again
If anybody asks about where your title is from (which is unlikely), you can tell them this acronym:
S.E.T.O.
Self-Enforced Title Organization
