Software & playing vs Fat Bird
No, but my husband, who hovers around 2000 here, can usually beat cell phone chess games without too much trouble. I, on the other hand, struggle to beat them.
You can play online vs a large community of players here, both live chess and correspondence chess. There are plenty of tournaments to join.
My favorite software for playing vs the computer is Chessmaster.
The title enticed me but the content failed to meet expectations.
I continue to be enticed by the title (dang flashbacks).

No problem. Sometimes things just happen.

Yeah...we learn to move on
Try to eat something
I'm about to have home made chicken pot pie. It's easy to cook if you don't make the pie crust from scratch.
Somehow I think it must taste a lot better than the haggis.
Losingmove: you don't have to try and find a chess program that will help you get better, you should spend your time trying to find a program that is really strong, and just use it to play against your online opponents. Once you get a high enough rating, people will think that you are good, and thats what counts.
My problem is the only program I can afford is my brain, and it's not doing well against my opponents right now..
