Study tactics and basic opening principles. Start with 1.e4 as white and 1...e5 as black (against 1.e4 and 1.c4 of course. 1.d4,e5 is the unsound Englund Gambit where black gets no compensation and white playing naturally puts black at a serious disadvantage). Against 1.d4 you want 1...d5 or 1...Nf6, especially the Nimzo or Queen's Indian allows natural and sound developing moves. Stay away from 1...f5 though against it since the Dutch has some advanced concepts that are better left until you're over 1500.

Set opponent min/max ratings (& save), then you can go to online chess>Start new game.
Importantly, take your time to think about your opponents threats, don't rush moves.

I have a very low low low I mean very low rating.I still learning chess and very frustrated cause I keep loading.I know how all the pieces move but can't really win against anyone.How can I find my rating?And I would like to create an open challenge against someone with an equal rating as me.How do I find players my own rating?Please no puns or jokes I know I have a low rating,just looking for an equal player to learn against!
