Some help with my training

Hi Everybody,

I've been playing chess for about 3 years now ( 1700 OTB) and I've settled into sortof a "daily schedule" that I've been doing since January. I usually do this in the morning, as a bit of a warmup in addition to my serious study in the afternoon.

It involves:

A) 10 minutes of Tactics Trainer solving

B) 10 minutes working on the "Daily Position" from CharlyAZ's website Chess4Real ( Fantastic website! Not that much info yet but every article is a gem!)

C) 10 minutes of solving endgame studies

I would choose to do 20 minutes of whatever combination I choose

So it could be 10 minutes of A + 10 of B etc

Then I would read the daily article, news here and then play 10-15 minutes of live chess.

My questions are as follows

For my 20 minutes of solving, do you think it would benefit me more if I did say, 20 minutes of x or 10 minutes of y and 10 minutes of z?

Are there any other training methods that I could add to this?

Do you think I should make live chess an " Option D" instead of having it every day?

Thanks to everyone!

Your program sounds good.  I would definitely add analyzing your own games.  GM Rowson in his books makes the very good point that acquiring knowledge about chess is very different than practicing the skill of choosing good moves.  Not that that applies to your program, but it's a good point that has really changed how I 'study' chess.
