That's funny, DimpuDaDimp. How come a piece pinned to your own king has the power to impede the opponent's king or support checkmate if it technically can't move at all?

By the way, I know the answer but it still feels weird that the king can never cross the path of a piece that has no way to actually move.
Pawns can't move 2 squares on their first move back then(they can now to speed up developing). Just think about En Passant. If the En Passant position is formed back then, they cannot avoid being taken because they can't move 2 squares forward. En Passant just makes sure that the pawn is still trapped

Just a note: I wish that you could castle in check. It would make everything SOOO much easier.
However, I do get that it's sorta meant as a punishment i.e. you weren't careful enough, you don't get to castle.
