Sore Losers

Wat is it with people that do not honor rematches? If they win the first match or second or third, they are quick to offer a rematch. But if I win the rematch and offer one, they run. Also there are those who I beat in a friendly game that get so upset that they began name calling and threats at my life. This is ridiculous!

This should point you in the right direction.

Imho rematches are the choice of each player itself not the choice or some expectation from ego-driven people (i.e. If I win I expect a rematch otherwise not, thats stupid).

Telling animal names and asking the personal address to pass by during a game shouldn't care at all, just ignore this.

I've seen this and it is ridiculous. Or they want a rematch when lose but decline after win. Ha.

Blackburne, 'der schwarze tod', was apparently wasted on scotch most games. They lived fast and died young in those glory days.

The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.

I don't know who taught you basic chess manners, but whoever it was, you should ask for your money back because they taught you wrong.  Unless you have some extenuating circumstance, you honor the rematch.  You don't win one big hand at poker than leave.  You don't win a chess game on a blunder and refuse a rematch.  These are very, very basic courtesies that no adult should have to be taught.

Ugh, you again? Demanding someone rematch you makes you an ass as much as you think the other person is.

At first learn how to quote correctly. And secondly your words sound quite disparaging to me. You are not the man here to tell other people such ridiculous words as you did.

There is no law. custom, or rule of etiquette that entitles you to a rematch.

Oh, wait, I said that on the last "I didn't get a rematch" thread.

kind of surprised that the guys who asked me for rematches didnt fire up an engine for the revenge as would normally happen, nice to play some decent human beings for a change.

Sometimes people just don't have time for a rematch. Lighten up and move on to the next opponent. It's not like we are playing in an OTB tournament.
