Is it considered cheating to speak to myself during a live game? just a method for thinking more clearly

It probably wouldn't be considered cheating but you still could be penalized for distracting your opponent.

I was talking about live chess through Chess.com. I mean, speaking during an OTB game is definitely forbidden, isnt it? So, maybe doing this during an online game gives me an "unfair" advantage or something

on chss.com live you can scream till you lost your voice, nobody can hear you. why need ask this?

Its not about what people can tell you. It is about playing clean. I could use an engine as well and no one would notice

I believe that as long as their your ideas there's nothing wrong about speaking, they can do it as well...and uh do u think u could tell my how do directly respond to one, or at least quote? I thought replying to ur own post might get ur attention lol.

There should be a "quote" option somewhere. I am writing from my phone, so not sure

Are you referring to "chat".  Yes it can be distracting and, if so, one can disable 'chat'.

I think it's fine to speak out loud during games. Staff members sometimes stream their live games and speak out loud.

I once knew someone who did that all the time. He was also retarded. He couldn't help himself.

Yeah, probably the question seems silly but I mean, you are not allowed to sepak outloud during OTB. So the thinking process is inside your head only. Some people find it easier to calculate and think when they speak outloud. So, speaking outloud during an Online could be an unfair advantage. Like cheating yourself, know what I mean? Like looking up an opening while you play it, or using an adjacent board to calculate.

Bit similar as using your fingers to count during a maths test... Maybe it's me, but there are more urgent things to get worried about.
