Speed running vs Sandbagging

I saw Hikaru Nakamura do this recently and I lost all respect for him. On stream, he started a new account, then went on a tear to reach some specific rating as quickly as possible. Why is it when he does it, it's permissable but when others do it, it's sandbagging? Either way, for a GM to create an a alt account just to beat up on people is really a douchebag move IMHO.

I believe they get their ratings back. Don't worry

Two different things IMO. Sandbagging is done to lower ones score to join competition. By doing so, the sandbagger increases his chances of winning the prize. Sandbagging is a form of cheating. A speed runner, not in competition, is simply taking an action which meets his desires. While opinions are a dime a dozen, mine is this. I do not care at all for this type of behavior, if rating points are lost by the people crushed, on the climb upwards.

Post 4 was not seen when this was entered, which may change what I wrote.

They get their rating back, so it's ok. At least they had the opportunity to play with hikaru, would be nice to play him or Magnus, Caruana... but he's a douche, he used to accuse other GMs of cheating with no proofs and for no reason, a lot of players have bad histories with him
