Speedruns, lowering ratings and sandbagging

I want to do speedrun and have fun but cannot find the option. Or do i need to manually lower rating? I had a trick wherein i would keep resigning and if i get blocked i will appeal that all of them were mouse slips. I am hoping they can't do anything because they do not have any algorithm check mouse slips happy

Why can't people just play at their rating? By lowering your rating on purpose you are setting a lot of people up to get screwed.

Sometimes people need variations in everything. Example, I used to play sports video games then I started playing mario sports, it's fun having variation. Speedrun is like a variation, kind of like a boss gauntlet in many other games.

This can be seen as really saying that it is fine to victimize other players by tricking them into thinking they are playing somebody that isn't much stronger than the listed rating, In a site-approved speed run all such rating losses are refunded. If you are looking for a site-approved speed run then you need to convince the site (difficult for somebody at your rating level - or even at merely several hundred points above your rating level). If you are looking for an unapproved personal speed run then that runs afoul of the sandbagging prohibitions and strongly risks a ban.

Sandbaggers are bad

Just don't do it, you'll crush a lot of beginners for no reason and they won't get their ratings back. If it was a authorized speedrun, they would get their rating back, but it's not the case, so it's bad sportsmanship. You won't get banned, but it's not a cool thing to do

Yeah, it does feel like victimizing. What if, at the beginning of the match, a message will flash that the opponent is speedruning and their real rating is a surprise. If they win they can be awarded rating according to the rating difference (lose rating can be refunded). It adds a fun factor to them too. This approval thing feels little bit unfair as I too want to experience speedrun atleast once regardless of my ratings.
