We all have different ideas of what constitutes sportsmanship. Some might consider it poor sportsmanship for the original poster to ask an opponent to undergo some complicated manuver to restore a position on the faith that the mismove was not their fault. One should take care with accusations like this. Some of the most blatant examples of poor sportsmanship come from those who felt they've been wronged by their opponents unsportsmanlike behaviour. I have lost games through no fault of my own (most recently getting timed out of all my games when my internet service went out last week) and I'm sure this has been offset by an equal number of games my opponents lost through no fault of their own. We all play under the same conditions and if we weren't okay with those we shouldn't have agreed to do so in the first place. I wouldn't be doing myself any favours by allowing my sense of having been wronged ruin the experience of what is really a good place to play chess.

Years ago, before computer chess and playing online was around, I used to play Correspondence Chess (using the mail system- for those too young to know). How boring it was!!    So is playing online. Nothing beats OTB Chess for excitement and socialising. Get out more, you lot!!
