Do you not hear the whirring of the motors as it moves its piece anyway
Square Off - Chess Set
I do not see a problem with disabling the sound. If the device would accept my move, then it would move its piece. If it would not accept my move, I would know that I need to make the move again. It is just question of getting used to that. The problem with the sound is that if somebody close is sleeping or watching TV .... so that he/she does not constantly hear the sound of the Square Off.
I see
Hello. Does anybody know how to disable the sounds from the square off? I mean the sound that comes when you press the piece on the board. I am not speaking about the sound coming from the moving mechanism. I have disabled the sounds in the App, but it disables only the sounds coming from my mobile phone.
Is there no user manual for the SquareOff?

The whirring of the motors is much more quiet, it is not a problem.

Are you asking the about the beeping noise when you register a move from the board to the app and the check noise when you get put in check? I think before you start a game it ask if you want sound on. Are you turning that off? I've always had it off so I don't know what it sounds like with it on and if that is your question
Peter78b you should send a message through the app to support, the contact us button. Maybe they will have a work around. I turned out to be tone deaf after I got mine I came to realize this, so I do not hear the tones when pressing squares, and your correct I have been able to adjust to what happens when you cannot hear pressing the squares. I won't repeat the procedure unless someone else has my problem. I had asked them to change the frequency of the tone so I could hear it but nothing came of it. I am getting a hearing aid soon and will be able to hear the tones, but I doubt I will use it when playing as I would find myself with your problem.

Jr87 - Yes, it is this beeping noise when I register a move from the move. Yes, when I start to play chess, I turn off the sound in the App, but the Square Off board still beeps.

I do not think so, as of now anyway. But I can ask them to add the option. They add new features constantly. I will get back to you ![]()
It is a very nice chess. I love it.
Just pity, that it still does not have the "take back" and "hint" option when you play only with "AI"......
Because sometimes I realize just 1/100 second after my move that I wanted to go somewhere else (means that I have just done a stupid mistake and that I have to resign the game and play again from the beginning).
Adding "take back turn" and "hint button" would be also good for my son in order not to discourage him to play chess (as he from time to time/regularly makes a stupid move).
Hi Guys,
Just got my Kingdom Board here in the UK. Sadly, its not working! It's the Bluetooth thats the problem. If I describe here, maybe someone can help? Removed lock nut, charged up board, turned on. From my Samsung Android and my iPhone 6, I cannot connect. The Samsung shows available devices as SQFKDS so I'm guessing this is the board? But when I try and Pair, nothing happens! The iPhone cannot even show the board as a device available. Both phones show other bluetooth devices in the house so I know the phones are fine. Without bluetooth connection, I cannot run the software or do anything! Is there a reset button on the board or any suggestions I could try, or have I been sent a broken board?????? Cheers
Thanks Dennis. When you say thru the app, is that via the email link? or is there a button to press in the app? btw have tried installing the software and restarting both. How do you reset board, is that thru the app too, or is there some secret button to press on board? cheers
