It's a stalemate because your opponents king is not in check and your opponent has no legal moves. If you're not giving check in this sort of situation you must make sure you leave your opponent's king a square to go to.
Instead of c5, play Qd3, and after Kb4, either queen to a3 is checkmate.
55. Qb7 is also mate, you didn't need to chase his pawn, if you leave the pawn you also wont stalemate him by accident.
Yeah Qb1 is the obvious move, and the technique I always use to mate the computer, dunno why Qd3 came to my head.
also you are pretty dumb... you try and troll him by promoting and promoting instead of checkmateing him and you end up drawing the game

Thank you very much for the education.Im 63 and just started playing a short while ago regular.Being shut in and almost immobolized now days the game brings me much pleasure although frustrateing.Great response from Long Island Mark and scottrf.As you probably noticed Ive played several games andby now Im used to the punks.I do understand blocks and just added another.Thanks again gentlemen.

I'm still pretty new to chess, I've only been playing for about 4 years now. (I've only played competitively for 1 year though.)
Would someone look at my game that was stalemated recently and explain how.Im not understanding this and its happened twice.Ive tried to read up on it in the one book I have however Im just not understanding or know how to avoid.What move should I have done?
