- usually you need to register it with the federation in your country
- then you need enough boards and clocks(sponsors if possible)
- a suitable venue to meet up at night which is safe and quiet enough(school classrooms seem to do well in SA as Pubs dont work
)
- sufficient advertising and interest to make sure you are not the only one there every chess night
- get all of the above done,possibly get someone strong enough to give hints and help analyze the players games and you should be okay(a 2000 player will be awesome)
- starting a club is not as easy as it sounds
I've always wanted to join a chess club, but I live in Glasgow, Kentucky and the closest one is like over 1 hour away.
So can anyone tell me how to start one, and how to get it done officially with the USCF?
