Is this a bug?
Starting At 1100 Rating

To be specific - I'm talking about the live chess ratings. Daily's start at 1200 with intermediate selected but live ratings are 1100. Is this supposed to be this way? I thought all ratings, live or not, were initially set to 1200?

In the past, chess.com started the intermediate rating as 1200 in all time controls.
When did they change it to 1100 for live?

Probably because you only talk on this website and you haven't played
No...they're supposed to start at 1200 once you select intermediate. Start = no games played yet.

Well you wanted to answer I gave it to you that's why most people play on the site you only talk on the site so you won't get a rating until you start playing it's that simple if you can't understand that then you're beyond help
Obvious troll. If you can't understand what STARTING rating means, then you're beyond hope. It has nothing to do with whether you've played a game or not yet. That wouldn't be a starting rating, now would it?
You did give an answer. One that was insufficient and inaccurate. I'm looking for the right answer.

I just joined the site. There's obviously no extreme rush to play a game while I have a question pending.

Start does not equal zero games who told you that start means you start to play a game zero games means you did not start
Obvious troll. Has to be.

You think I'm a troll but I got over a thousand games in a week and you got zero games and you're trying to convince people that you started but you have zero games and that starting means zero games when really starting to play chess the only thing you start to do is troll and talk you're not a chess player apparently
A thousand games played in a week? Not quite sure what the purpose of that is. Certainly not improvement.

play each other. do it
I'd rather just have an answer to my question. I really don't care about what the troll has to say at this point.

Starting ratings, if you select intermediate when creating the account, should start at 1200. My live ratings have all started at 1100. Why?

His question is is why doesn't he have a rating because he hasn't started yet, since he has not started yet he has no rating he doesn't understand that he thinks he should get a rating even though he doesn't play does that make sense NO!
I really do hope - for your sake - that you are just trolling. Otherwise...I don't know what to say. My daily rating STARTS (0 games played) at 1200. My other ratings START (0 games played) at 1100. Once you've played a game, it's no longer a STARTING rating. If you can't comprehend that, the last thing you need to be wasting time on is Chess. You have far bigger fish to fry.

To the other guys calling him a troll, he’s just asking why his rating is starting at 1100 rather than the normal 1200. If anyone is trolling, it actually appears to be you guys, as your filling his thread with some pretty useless nonsense.

Why are some people who select intermediate when creating a new account starting with an 1100 rating instead of a 1200 rating?
