Still haven't sorted the clock issues.

Despite 900m Internet via fibre, why can another player make 10 moves in under a second, clock keeps getting added to, and with a premove I lose all the 1.2 secs on the clock and the game? Servers clocks seem to favour the American locations.

Your recent games have been 2|1 so there will be a second added to a player's clock after each of their moves.

If you're seeing premoves take that long, you must have a lot of lag between you and the server.

There are some things you can do to minimize issues on your end.

Thank you however my recent games are all on guest play because of the time issues. I play 3|0.

I don't have lag this side. I have a QOS on my server. Those stock replies are gaslight. There's an issue.

Playing people in the UK and EU seems to be balanced. Only far away like the Americas seems to be weighted to that region.

It isn't us it is you. Stock answer.

Guest play uses a different set of servers that are more distributed and you're likely hitting a server geographically closer to you when playing that way.

The site is working towards moving the vast majority of games to that solution, with over 50% of them already running that way. When you're not on that solution, your traffic has to travel to the main datacenter in the US and travels through a lot of different connections that can introduce lag or cause packet loss.

Those provided links are steps that can be taken on the client side to minimize issues on that end but once it leaves your local router, it's out of your or the site's control until it gets to that datacenter.

This explains it some more

Thank you.

That is a real answer.

Yes, there are issues, it is more complex than you realise but we are working on a solution. Bear with us, it is a huge project but will be worth the wait.

Lead with that next time. And thanks again.

That's why I rarely play the X/x games. I do the 5 minute and 10 minute games without any add back of time. More stable in my eyes.
