stockfish overheating problems?

im having problems with stockfish overheating my cpu. can anyone help with this? its an amd phenom 2 quad core. what can i do about this besides buying a better cooling system?

i do have a desktop -_-

 

well, i guess ill just have to get a better cooling system then...

I believe you can set your PC to only allow the engine to use a certain ammount CPU, but I dont know a lot about PC,s.

1. Clean out the dust buildup from inside the computer, if you don't do that on a regular basis.

2. Go into the Stockfish engine configuration and change the number of threads from the default value of 4 to a lower number.

One or both of those should help.
