Streaks

Sometimes I lose three, four, or five games in a row. Sometimes, I go many days without a loss. Last night in blitz (3 0), my record was 2-1-2. In rapid (game 10), however, my last loss was March 6. I lost eight games that day. That's 8 losses in 29 games. Since March 6, I've played 19 rapid games, winning 16 and drawing 3.

The loss-less streak will end. Streaks always do. Even so, it's nice to be winning most of my games.

Another win (both of us played poorly) and a draw (excellent play on both sides). The streak endures!

do you follow the same superstitions as athletes when on a streak?

Probably. If it is a superstition, how will I know it?

It's natural to have fluctuations in performance, including losing streaks.

I'm on a streak too. I've lost my last two daily games, and played badly enough to deserve the losses.

I can hardly wait for my streak to end.

According to chess.com my longest winning streak in daily chess was 78 games. Of course, I was new to the site and underrated. Also, as my streak got past 30 games, I had to wonder if staff was watching, because more and more of my opponents were forfeited for cheating.
