I also feel like I should be a chess master sometimes. I'm gonna demand a title.
Strength of play in rating don't match elo.

This is your take away from what I said? I'm just pointing out that players here play far above their elo rating, and thus people who are newer here should be ready to battle, because this chess site is the real deal...

I never demanded anything, but if you wanna give me a title just call me the tilt master...

How do you determine elo rating besides playing a bunch of games and seeing at what rating your skill level is well matched?
I think we don't understand eachother, im saying elo rating is kinda deceptive at times here. Just giving newer players a heads up.

It isn't that it is inaccurate it is that if you make the position easy to play from the opening or if you play theory they know they will play alot better than there rating
There is of course cheaters but that's for another topic.

Well I was just looking for a reason why you think it's deceptive, you haven't given one. "Feeling" higher rated doesn't mean a thing.

I get it your 1860.... No body here plays well above their suggested elo. My mistake me lord...

Actually "feeling " higher rated does if 1.new account they prob are higher rated 2.smurfing 3.play is random so sometimes 1600 sometimes 800

If you play above your rating it will steadily rise as it should. If it doesn't rise, you dont play above your level. This isnt a diss just genuinely interested to know what your point might be lol

And this is based on what? Just your gut feeling?
Welp I got cut down in my last rapid my op saw through every attack and seemed to be playing 1600 elo strength while only being like 1170. I feel like elo on this site and strength of players is wildly inaccurate. Why does this occur? Wouldn't your op be ranked higher if they play 300 to 400 eilo stronger then their rank? Just feel kinda burned..
