Struggling in otb even though i am 2200 online i am 1600 fide. losing to 1500 -1600 in fide .Are 1600 elo fide really so strong or i am lacking in otb skills?

I know about the gap between online play and over-the-board (OTB) play, but it usually doesn't exceed 300 Elo points (on Chess.com). A 700 Elo difference seems unusual. Personally, I find OTB play more difficult than online, since I learned and played chess exclusively online and rarely handled the pieces. This really threw me off when I joined my club last year. For you, it might be due to that as well.

Sad thing is that in India, 2200 could very well be 1600 as the player pool there is ridiculously strong
insane

In India that's normal.

Yes, if OP moved to a different country, I would say their fide would be much higher

@AOT_LeviAckerman, first kudos on your rapid/blitz/bullet on chess.com. Surprising how you aren't doing better OTB. Maybe you should work to get your daily chess rating up to 2000 to test your ability to analyse in depth, like you need in standard time control games?

Maybe you have been playing a lot of underrated Indian kids? According to your online rating here, you should be 1900-2100 FIDE.

A 1900 fide is 2500 elo online

It's not surprising at all. If you don't have OTB experience you're gonna suck at first

Thx for your suggestion. When I was 2000elo rapid online I was doing that but then I realised that I have started many daily game means 124 daily game so then I didn't played and lost on time and lost my elo .I started to play daily chess again

You probably just need to manage your time better OTB. Time controls on here are much shorter.

DoYouLikeCurry

You probably just need more experience at classical time formats, it’s a completely different game yknow

Maybe for kids who specialize on flagging people. On average the difference should be about 300 points.
