Sudden loss of points!!!!!!

Hi guys!

Excuse my ignorance but I realluy need some help!

I opened an invite today twice in a row and the player that came to my table was too low in ranking for me. So I aborted the game. All good, seemingly! What I didn't realise is, if you abort a game (without making a single move, not one, you STILL lose points!!! How is this fair? 

Can someone please explain?

I looked at my game history before and the last 2 games I lost, I aborted. I did NOT make a single move!

You probably aborted too many games. Then you're not allowed to abort it, but just "play or resign".

Hey naturalpawnkiller, higher or lower ranking than yours is still a game. Dont be one of those guys who run when meeting lower rated players coz you may not like it when it is done to you. This is chess.com lets enjoy the games not the ratings.
