survey: are you an 1.e4 person or a 1.d4 person

i'm just wondering what first move people prefer. one isn't better than other i'm just wondering what you prefer. 

if you play the English, reti, van Geet, bird, Hungarian and Nimzowitch-Larson attack. please let me know also. 

personally i'm a d4 person.

I prefer 1,c4 and 1.Nf3

If i know my opponent 1.d4

If i dont know my opponent 1.d4

If its a 1 day tournament 1.d4

If its a 2 day tournament 1.d4

If its a 3 day tournament 1.d4

If its a tournament in another state 1.d4

If its a game at the club 1.d4

if its for fun 1.d4

Always d4. 

1 e4. because it tends to lead to the open game I'm comfortable with.

If my positional understanding gets better, I may go for 1 d4 or even some of the "modern" stuff!

E4 and bird

I play both

Depends. If I know nothing against my opponent, then E4 (if white)

If I know something about my opponent (rematches, watching them play, etc.) then whatever knowledge I have may or may not lead me to start otherwise.

EDIT: Then again I'm a noob and suck at chess...so don't take my answer too seriously.

I go both ways (just like country and western).

e4, and I played g4 for a while, it works for lower rated players, and for those  who know to deal with it, it cracks.  There should be some graphics, (e4 how many percentage and d4 how many percentage, others how many %).  I hope you do that after you get sufficient replies.

e4 It's almost always gonna be scotch or philidor.

e4 - for the profound reason that I know even less about d4 positions than I do about e4 ones.

For the past three years, 1.d4 always. Prior to three years ago, 1.e4.

e5 b4 e4 always.
