tactics problem

Well, that change went in a couple of days ago. But I follow @News and some staff members.

I've noticed I'm gaining a lot of points for tactics I'm surprised I even get at my rating. some simple mate in 2 gave me a +11

The way tactics trainer works is very mysterious. I've gone up about a thousand points in 3 years, but even on the rare occasion when I get a 100% for solving a difficult problem in only 10 or 20 seconds, I've still never got over 9 points for any problem.

I'm getting +10's for the simplest tactics I've ever seen on here. is this some strategy to inflate everyone's rating to astronomical heights to boost everyone's ego? I don't like it.

If you really want to do more tactics, just upgrade your membership.

i'm flummoxed by the new tactics- early, when the new changes hit i was seeing what many posters were noticing- +10's and +11's for very straightforward puzzles (even by my noob standards)

lately, however i'm totally baffled
i have gotten a few puzzles where i'm sure they are rated higher but for the most part they all look the same; at least with the old system i could slowly brute my way through a level of puzzles and eventually "get it"

i kind of see the developers point about making the puzzles "more like a live game" but it is a game someone else got to that specific point-

i'll give this new format another couple of weeks but i think i'll stick to my tactics books for the time being

i'm not good enough to recognize the patterns randomly; need much more motif drilling into my head

Is this still the way it works?
