Ajax is a programming language which is used by this site for interactive playing of chess (including tactics, analyzer, etc.).

AJAX isn't exactly a programming language, more of a programming technique to allow information to be exchanged over the web between client-side systems (like my computer) and server-side systems (like chess.com).
That said, whatever the problem was serems to have been fixed or, at any rate, I've not noticed it since, so, er, never mind. :)
For some reason today I'm getting AJAX errors when entering moves into the Tactics Trainer, have had several solutions completely ignored by the webserver. Argh.
