www.chess.com/tactics :D cheaper than a book, more tactics, more enjoyable

i like "sharpen your tactics" -  http://www.chess.com/eq/chess+books/sharpen-your-tactics2

Erik, I love tactics trainer. It has really sharpened my tactics - several times in my games I've felt that there is a "tactics trainer" solution, and then found it.

Is anybody looking at the cooks though? Some of the problems have mate which can be delivered several ways, and some of the other problems have finishing moves which are unnecessary (and impossible to guess).

MRNChess, what tactics books have you done before? And do you already know what the terms fork, skewer, discovery, x-ray, and zwichenzug mean?
MRNChess

yes I know all of those tactics besides xray

fork- attacking two peices at once

skewer- force a strong peice away to reveal an attack ona weaker peice

discover-An attack delivered by moving a peice out of the way

zwichenzug-inbetween move, i beleive

In that case, the chess.com Tactics Trainer is an excellent suggestion. The tactics are taken directly from real games, so they're quite practical. I just wanted to make sure you knew the basic motifs before recommending that. :)
