No, you were premoving. A premove is marked by a red box. No takebacks except in Online chess games where "Takeback" is selected under the rating option.

I wasn't paying attention and when I went to castle, I moved my rook two spaces instead of the King. I saw a "red" box light up. Does that mean you have certain amount of seconds to correct the move?
