I think they should add this...

I let people take back moves all the time in casual otb games. Why not here?

Or to help their friends learn the game...

I'm almost sure that there is (or was?) a setting for "Take-back" when you set up the challenge. At least in Daily Chess. I don't play live chess.

Grandmaster Matulovic was so notorious for moving, reaching toward the clock, then suddenly saying "J'adoube!" and retracting the move... that his fellow GMs sometimes referred to him as J'adoubovic.

I posted about takebacks couple days ago.. there should be an option. cant stand playing half a game and its a great position for both of us.. just even spot. . and thennnnn a blunder or slip which ruins the game! what a waste of time and energy that could be resolved witj a simple takeback.. and I know people will abuse the option but its up to the person granting the request so..whats the difference. only issue with it I would have is of there was a pop up that froze or messes up the game.

and if you request a take back and get denied, it should be disabled for the rest of the game

Otb you control the pieces with your hands, you can't blunder the move you want to do but here from the PC or Phone you can blunder easily. It happened to me yesterday(and many other times)

You can accidentally drop a piece on the wrong spot on otb and I'm pretty sure if it's a legal move it stands. Assuming you're playing a rated game that is.

Quite true, it happens to everyone of us.

It also happens that we really blunder and realize that after having played the move.

Now the problem is : how would you make a difference between these two situations ?

Take back is not chess.

I'd agree with this if two criteria are met: 1. casual non-rated game 2. agreed on by both players.

It can be done under casual games. There is a toggle for takebacks.

I think adding that option would be good. It would only be done with approval by the other player. Not every player wants to win just because their opponent made a very bad blunder.

We've seen very bad blunders by GMs, who then lost their game.

The opponent often acknowled he was lucky, but I can't remember any of them refusing to get 1 point for the game.

That's chess, whatever the level.

If you get one take back a game that is sort of pointless. I would support unlimited take backs.

I used to do that until someone asked for 5 takebacks in a single game and then was telling everyone that he had won against me.

Unrated Daily games can be set up to allow takebacks.

Here is the OP actual complaining about. It is not the blunder caused by the wrong reasoning, but caused by a glitch on device.

Well, there is someone long time ago to proposed to doubled the sent button.Which was the second button to ask user consistency on their move.If in the pop up second button they sure of their move, then it was sent permanently.Otherwise, the move could be cancelled.

Touch and move man, touch and move

I think it's fine, for casual games.

I do. Blundering is part of the game. It teaches you to be a little more careful next time. Longer time controls help.
