TAKE THE VOW: No 8 year-old will ever crush me!

I play a lot of the 7-10 year old kids. I win some and lose some. A 8 year old, that started competing at 6 has about the same level as me. I have 4 years competition experience, but the kids learns at least twice as fast. I did beat Amelia Nordquelle when she was 8, and got a lucky win now thats she is 9. One week later she crushed me so hard that i felt like hit by a GM. (GM truck or Grandmaster???). Have won against Lykke Merlot Helliesen when she was 6, but she got revenge when she was 7.

it is hard to get passed the cute little innocent facade sometimes. Especially when they come to the board with a score sheet that says slow down mommy loves you. grr

Im not going to lie.  It used to really bother me losing to a child.  Thankfully i have learned to let that go, and appreciate the skill. and ability of the "next generation"

or the girl that brought her stuffed hedgehog to the board.

Then his parents buy him an unnecessary, extremely expensive mobile phone and everything is ruined.

My rating will not rise much, because I play in group 3 in our clubchampionship. I am doing fine, with 75% score, but the kids are underrated, so the victories doesnt generate much points and the losses drop much.

I often  lose rating playing the kids, but I love to watch chesshistory in the making, where it actually happens. I tell you, Amelia Nordquelle is going to become historic.  She is my favourite for female world champion in year 2025. Amelias brother Daniel is winning the masteclass in our clubchampionship. He is 14 years, has the same talent as Amelia, and did save a draw against GM Baadur Jobava in the match between The Norway Gnomes and Stockholm Snowballs.

We have another little supergirl in the club too. Livia Lindstad.  9 or 10 year old and more mature than most of the adult players. Maybe I was wrong predicting Amelia as future female world champion. Livia might become too strong.

the little kids in OTB tournaments are kinda scary

I saw this 1800 kid that was 8 years old that I played against in bughouse. Well technically my partner did, I was crushing my opponent, but my partner, a 1800, got crushed and mated by the 1800 kid. I'm also 1800.
