I change my mind, is better to talk at the end of a game .

If somebody insult me at the end , well ,i try to give a positive answer.

I never block anybody, i think is unnecessary.

In one minute games i like to win by mate or by advantage in time and position.

I use my best games to teach chess with kids.

Im going to reveal my nationality when i reach over 2200 rating!!

I hope we can be friends or good enemies ,lol, anyway is fascinating !!

God bless you always and have fun in this beautiful life we have !!

See you at the board ok

God bless you always friends!!

I like to chat, but I don't hold it against my opponent if s/he doesn't. If you're playing 5 or 8 games at once, chatting in each of them would be a handful.

I almost always disable chat ,you can talk after the games.

Every one is entitled to a rematch  .. it,s good sportmanship. I agree with the above quote by kingslayerthe1st .

Well , for example : at the start of a game i put in the chat : hi . Then my oponnent at least must respond with a : hi .

Every one is entitled to have at least a word from the oponent , dont you agree ?

At the end of a game i put somenthing on the chat like: good game , gg, nice combination or whatever . Most players only are interested on the rematch request!!

If you use the word :dumb , is because you are one dumb person , i supose!!

Get lost is not a polite sentense coming from a chess player!!

People expect a lot  or high education from chess players !!

Maintain a good reputation ok

God bless you always Kingslayerthe!!

Yes of course ,I did not agree with the get lost saying but the I agree that good sportsmanship you should agree to a rematch or if unable then say perhaps later when I have time .

Yes , soldierpiper, is better to say : perhaps later !!

Two games against a player is enough.

Or if they agree to match it could be posible to play more games , but they need to talk about before!!

God bless you Soldierpiper!  Thanks for your answer ok

Are you referring to live chess or online chess? I will say "hi" and "good game" and things like that in online chess, but in live blitz I don't have the time.

Ask kingslayer1st .Cool

So are you there for the conversation or the game?  It seems pretty amateurish to me... why do you think you're entitled to a response if you talk first?  Why isn't the person entitled to decline comment if they're just there for a game... and by aborting the game or declining  a rematch you're trampling on their entitlement not the other way around.

It seems like the game is a bit too competitive and you like a more friendly atmosphere?  So when it seems your opponent is what you would consider overly focused on winning, you abort the game out of an uneasiness not out of some contrived sense of entitlement to conversation.

If my take on the situation is wrong, I accept that.  Maybe you're just a friendly kind of guy and don't like what you consider to be rude people.  The above is my point of view on the situation though, so at least you can take away a different perspective on the situation.  Not everyone thinks the way you do :)  I almost always respond to "hi" with at least "hi" , but if I didn't and they aborted I wouldn't consider them worth playing anyway to be honest, and probably think they were a very weak player.

I'm playing with chat on these days (live chess) and say hi, gg, or some other comment after the game that seems appropriate, since it seems to be quite important to some players, but I won't chat during the game. It's too distracting and in any game faster than tournament time controls also too time-consuming. You don't have a chat with your OTB opponent while still playing (at least in rated games) too so why should I do it online?

If someone thinks he must write me rude comments, I still feel free to disable chat. Recently my opponent wrote "u r such a pussy" after I offered a draw, I don't have to put up with that.

GODISMYENERGY

Thanks all of you for your comments !!

Ill play with you , you are very friendly .

In conclusion: Its better to talk at the end of a game .

God bless all of you ok

After playing a time at chess.com you play very often against the same player which wants to chat and its not longer a problem..

Some ideas here ...

chess-playing-style---new-indices

who-is-player-x (Extended Personal Profile)

its-another-rollover (Essential Chess Types)

to enable chatterboxes and strong-silent-types to avoid bumping into one another unexpectedly.

Once the game gets going who needs chat ? The moves are what it,s all about & if you want to talk become friends or send a message. If a player wants a rematch then give it to them. What are you afraid of losing... or do you think you was real lucky to win & you are afraid to play them again?    It,s only good sportsmanship to grant a rematch,& if you lose & now  it,s 1-1 then one of you might want a 3rd & final match ( rubber match ) to break the tie.

I always say "Hi :) " when starting a game

Out of 30 games played, I have had 2 chats. The rest say nothing.

Chatting during a game could be fun.

Peace

I usually try to chat but a lot of people just don't talk

Agree entirely. Another factor is, there are also too many morons here, who unleash a volley of abuse after they lose... sometimes even when they win! And a whole bunch of them, are purely racist remarks! (Two nationalities in particular, but I don't want to tar all of them with the same brush.) I suppose that sort of thing should be reported, but I can't really be bothered. I don't know if it would even make much of a difference.
