Team comments in VC games vs. Archive

I see, sorry hiredgun. I agree, eventhough I'm sure some would be against the privilege... Also, I believe a close knit group, like the ones where you and I vote for instance, is transparent and honest enough to let the rest of the group know where they're at. We can then check the names of the people involved (in Team members), and deduce who is voting without saying, and later on when the results are shown, what they have voted.

I wanted to say that u can see the progress of votes without voting any time. I learnt this form my friend.

Just click on the archive and on the last move played by your team . Then in that link replace mv= no. of moves given by no. of moves given+2

For example - if the link was this

http://www.chess.com/votechess/game?id=33246&mv=0&san=e4

then to see the present voting stats replace mv=0 with the present move number

chessolite

hope that helps all. and hope that icould make everyone understand

Very useful info, chessolite, than you very much, I used it today, and it is so helpful : it encourages the captain to continue the discussion, to inform others that no one has voted therefore no rush, to discover silly moves made by passers-by, etc etc

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I only just saw this. I think it's a great idea and completely support it. There have been many times where I have been quite annoyed at having to chase down old comments, which is really difficult if you have several vote chess games to think about. If there was a bug that allowed this before, it is not an unfair assumption that it will be easy to implement.

thank you cam (edit : and michael hehe you came back) for your participation. I would have liked staff to comment too...?

Okay, this is my 2 cent's worth.   The problem is that with each new move, comes a clean page for new notes of discussion about the game.  Hence the archive.  Your idea isn't the first time the staff has heard it.

They have many suggestions on the books for improving chess.com.  Here's a few things to consider, the site, when it went to Beta, became riddled with bugs.  They are still running ramped through the site.  That takes first priority on the site, to get the site stable with the way it is now.  Every time they write new code, it messes with other codes already written.  Keeps them all hoping getting all these bugs out that are here now.

Other suggestions have been waiting for over 2 years and have not been implemented either.  The list is long.  Some idea will never be implemented for another 2 or 3 years.  This is also a business that has to go though what every other business goes through.  Budgets, stockholders, where to open new markets, new technologies to use.  Bug Fixing and how much that will cost.  We tend to forget that sometimes. In fixing one bug, it can start another one somewhere else.  It take's time to get it all fixed.  For now, their top priority is fixing all the bugs they have now.  What everyone would like to see on here as improvements to the site has taken a back seat for a while until they fix all thats wrong with the site now.  They are not only dealing with this main site, but all the phone apps, pads, systems, servers, that they have to deal with.  That all takes time, and a lot of money.  Sorry to say this, but it may have to wait. While they are fixing what is already wrong before moving on.  I already know thats not what anyone wants to hear, but, that in my humble opinion is the way it is.  Don't count on the staff to comment any time soon, they are busy fixing things and dont have the time to read every idea however good we may think it to be.  Let them fix all the other problems first then move forward to improving the site.
