Test on young brain vs old brain (chess connection?)

6-year-olds are solving this while adults are stumped.  My wife is a school teacher and could not solve it but my 10-year-old grandson figured it out in definitely less than 20 seconds.

I don't know if this correlates with why adults starting out in chess have never become grandmasters but I think it does show that children tend to think much differently  than adults.

I got it in a few seconds, and I ain't no spring chicken. Maybe I'm a statistical outlier. (I don't think this kind of thinking will help with my chess skill. Yell)
