I was so happy that vishy did not win the Candidates, that would have sucked to see another Anand vs carlsen match. Carlsen would have just easily destroyed him again.

Only fatamura or topalov would've been worse (12-0 anyone?). Was rooting for Karajin the whole time, very exciting player!

^^Yea Anand was the most exciting player this tournament, with so many wins, comebacks, and falls. My heart goes out to him but he crushed my hopes when he lost to fatamura AGAIN. Whyyyyy does he have such a bad record agianst him? It's sad.

I am a fan of Anand but seeing how he lost 3 games (and two games to tournament leaders) it was going to be difficult for him especially in a tiebreak situation. He played the most exciting chess and had the most decisive games of any player in the tournament, and I applaud his fighting spirit.

+1 agreed.

The legend would get crushed by a much better, superior player named Magnus carlsen. What an idiot you are getting all butthurt lol.

Got a bad feeling about this thread, it looks like is gonna be an anti-Anand supporters thread type who gonna show no respect for Anand.

I think u did not know that vishy many times crushed carlsen.....Carlsen is now a best player but Vishy Anand was a great,is a great & will be the great player of chess history.... If u shown disrespect to any legendary chess player like Vishy Anand....then you will be idiot, foolish and loser through whole life...Remember!!!!

Thread #14 for mantle chessfreak

Vishy has nothing more to prove. He has been WC by winning in all formats of the game. The fact that he is more than able to hold his own against players half his age speaks volumes about his talent.

Hey morons...other than Caruana, Karjakin and maayybbee Levon, no one would have stood even a fraction of a chance against Carlsen anyway.

At least Anand is a great sportsman and an icon of chess, unlike some others among the Candidates, like Nakamura or Topalov. In a match against Carlsen, he would do better than either of those two, and probably better than Svidler as well.

Avatar of ChessDoofus

I have nothing against Karjakin; he's a good guy as well. The only problem is that he clearly is the worst English speaker of all the Candidates, so his postmortems aren't the best, lol

Fully agree. With #17, I mean. I don't understand any of them anyway.

patzersachit carlsen has destroyed anand more times than anand has beaten him. And im so damn happy anand didn't win. Hopefully he never plays for the world championship against carlsen.

I'm perfectly happy to see Karjakin vs Carlsen (although I wanted Caruana to win) but why all this hate towards Anand?

Anand would have lost 3:2 this time.

He didn't WIN the candidates, but he came awfully close.

When is the next Candidates? 2018?

It would be great if Anand can (and wishes to) stay in shape chess-wise until that date, and go for THAT cycle.

Then again, it's just the egoistical wish of a chess fan who likes this player and his games. Nothing wrong with letting it go after so many years...

Nope he would have lost 4:0.
