You aborted against a 1200 and your own rapid rating is 1200. Is that the game you are referring to? If you accept a match and then back out then it is no different from auto-resigning. I don't see a problem.
You can’t tell who I aborted against you pleb. He was a 1000. You are a thief and a dirty liar. Shame!
Dearest Martin,
I hope this finds you well. Listen, I just lost my first rapid game in like 8 games because chess.com thinks its funny to cheat its members. I clicked "abort" because the opponent wasn't moving, then I clicked "abort" again on the next match because ... again, he wasn't moving. Then, the next match well he was just too low of a rating, it was laughable, so I clicked abort. Come to find out, I LOSE THE GAME. Why? Because without telling you, chess.com changes the "abort" button to "resign". I click what I think is "abort" only to click "resign".
Martin listen, I know you are a busy man. But this is an EASY FIX. Just have a message that pops up when abort is no longer allowed that says "abort is no longer available". DON'T JUST CHANGE IT TO THE RESIGN BUTTON. SERIOUSLY WHO THOUGHT OF THIS?????
please change it, thank u
If you avoi too often, as a percentage of recent completed games, you lose the ability to abort. You don't have to abort if your opponent doesn't move, the system automatically will count games as abandoned. Though, you might refresh to make sure you're not disconnected.
It's pretty obvious when the abort option is gone.

King, with respect, if it were obvious I wouldn’t have resigned and lost 10 ELO would I? All we need to do is have a message that shows up that says “the abort option is not available” like it’s not a big fix
