THE BASIC PRINCIPALS OF CHESS STRATEGY VOL.1

Sort:

Is this a good one to get? There are so many out there. I am looking to help with my game overall, but this would be a start.

Any info will help. Thanks in advance.

"Weapons of Chess" by Pandolfini -- A little dry but covers all the basics, not a bad book to start out with for strategy.

"Winning Chess Strategies" by Seirawan --  All in this series are great and work as good starting books.

"The Amateur's Mind" by Silman -- Don't be fooled by the title, maybe not a good first book.

"Simple Chess" by Stean -- Don't be fooled by the title, maybe not the best first book.

"Modern Chess Strategy" by Pachman -- Not the best book for a complete beginner, but one to grow with.  A classic that covers it all, worth reading more than once.

Oh, I see, you're asking if BPOCS vol 1 is good -- I thought you were asking for a good strategy book.  I've never heard of that product, I'd shop around if I were you.
