Bach is probably the best, though I wish the answer were Mozart.
Rachmaninov and Liszt are two of my all time favorites, and Chopin, Purcell, and Palestrina are up there somewhere as well (none of that is an answer to the actual question, but maybe it'll spark a conversation).
I dont know, maybe Mozart or Chopin, but they are all amazing
Debussy's songs are great! suite bergamasque is very good

Im unsure if I can answer who is the best; It depends on mood. The people I listen to most is: Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Haydn, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi (most cliche group; there’s a reason why) in alphabetical order. Bach is calming, Beethoven has versatility there’s a lot of power, Chopin is peaceful with the pianos, Haydn is pleasant, Mozart is brilliant, Tchaikovsky is from the romantic era; he has classics. Vivaldis four seasons is fire.

Mahler! And the best thing ever written about classical music is Adorno's fabulous book on Mahler.
