None of you count except for the people who count. And since I can count and am the one counting...none of you friggin count. Except the people who are with me. I'll teach them how to count.

I think someone needs to lay off the sugar for a while.

Hacker_And_Modder

You don't know how much sugar I've had; you don't count.

That is just a database of chess games. See DontPutOutUselessLinks.com. Now I'm am insulted. Totally unrelated, though. The URL of this post has a question mark after the best idea ever. That means it is doubting me. It shall die.

you definitely are a young 14, grow up a little. get out of your room and talk to someone. although you have quite obnoxious in couple of posts, everyone has given you respect even if you have a recycled, less than creative idea. the fact that you and many others on here are less than 18 or 21 is enough reason for chess.com to not promote anything gambling related. of course, a better reason is that it would change the community and the objectives of many of the players. the site is about chess not gambling.

I agree totally with amac, if you want to gamble don't involve chess. Unlike other board games eg backgammon chess doesn't lend itself to be a good gambling game as it's a game of pure skill. The better player will win in the vast majority of the time. The weaker player cannot rely on lucky dice or good cards, the only resources are the pieces, clock and each players minds! I'm not against gambling as I'm a keen online poker player and consider it to be a very entertaining game, gives me a break from chess. However I can't see the benefit of adding a gambling aspect to this great site, for starters it would have to be restricted to over 18s.

Your right Holdem, There will need to be some sort of spread, or

over/under based on material.  I glad you brought this point up.  If

the bets are flat (or straight) it wouldn't be very exciting.  We will

need to handicap every game, set odds, and have a spread based

on material won.

I don't think anyone here really takes this seriously.  Even my comments

in this post are tongue in cheek.  If hacker is serious he can start a new

site and develope his concept.  The challenge of setting up a good chess

site, with regulated legal gambling, sounds exhausting and expensive to

produce.  I like chess.com just as it is.

Maybe gambling wasn't a good idea-yet that wasn't the point. The point is to expand Chess.com->Betterness. Yet programmers are stingy these days, and that is why alot of open source software is taking a hit. So screw the gambling idea. I don't even know why I posted that. But I think why should still have out-of-the-browser faster alternatives. Plus, it will give more room for ads, which means even more blingage on chess.com. Actually, that is a good idea.

BTW the URL of every post on that page has  a "3" in it. Therefore I am still right.

Now you are on to something.  It may be that Live Chess will never

be stable enough for a real time tournament, so an "out of browser"

direct link server may be an alternative.  Non active players

(viewers) would see the ads, so not to distract from the games.

I shall begin working on the program today- it will have the basic code of Firefox-yet have a huge makeover. It won't connect anywhere but to chess.com and suck up all the bandwidth and RAM, on top, there will be a kill process routine that will end the process's of other programs. That will slow down cheaters and sound badass. Still haven't found..nevermind. It shall be done....but not soon.

This sounds like a threat to Chess.com. I hope Erik is monitoring this thread.

Hacker_And_Modder

Let me clerify..it sucks up YOUR bandwidth. That way there will be no cheating and faster connections.

Hacker_And_Modder

Turns out that if the bandwidth idea was in effect ISP would think your torrenting and cut your bandwidth. So I will make the neccary adjustments. I don't think erik likes me.

illeye2001

i like the idea.
