The Chess Art Thread

I've seen that set before. It's actually made of ice.
I would have never guessed it was made of ice. How cool!

I found this on etsy.com: Baltic amber chess art from 1967 Montreal Expo. Pretty cool!
Yes, this is real cool, especially since the piece is the knight.

Post #543 nice, might have been nicer if the front of the board was wider and the back narrower also the front of the board should be thicker and the back narrower. In design this is called perspective.
Nevertheless, I like your submission for it's originality.
Perhaps if you had stuck to all of the rules of design I might not have noticed it!
Well done, I really like it.
Perspective takes lots of practice, and one must begin somewhere. It is especially difficult drwing squares with chessmen on them. I enjoy doing perspective drawings, I found your drawing interesting.

Thanks Ives, think thats the first comics art we've seen here #:)
Here is a link to several pages of chess comic strips:
Thanks for this. This will be great to check out now and then to lighten a gloomy day. Although, we have few of those here in San Antionio, TX.

I think this is the coolist thread EVER!!!!!!

I will be working on taking some photos of chess pieces.
I am looking forward to viewing them.

Wow thanks guys! Actually I'm my own worst critic. There's something in each image I wished I could have done better, and most of the time I feel like just a hack-wannabe without any talant. When I look at the work of professionally trained CGI artists, it becomes quite obvious just how little I know.
You're not alone as an artist. Most are like that.
Neat sets, especially the like the crystal set.
